Ashira Siegel

Ashira Siegel grew up Hasidic in Los Angeles, CA. She learned how to swim before she learned how to walk and started riding bicycles not long after that. Ashira lived in Israel for three years before moving to Brooklyn, NY where she became enmeshed in urban bicycle culture. Now back in Los Angeles, Ashira works in a variety of media including photography, writing, glass, ceramics, print and video. She remains loyal to documenting as a way of life and regrets ever leaving the house without a camera. Ashira also sews smocks for Andrea Zittel's Smock Shop, has curated a number of art shows and film exhibits, and is co-producer of the Bicycle Film Festival in Los Angeles.
